Every map tells your story
One of the reasons I fell in love with GIS is because I realized maps are about so much more than geography.
They're about people.
Throughout my career, I've had the opportunity to build applications and dashboards that helped residents find information, supported public health initiatives, improved government transparency, and gave communities better access to the services they depend on. Those experiences taught me something I'll never forget: behind every dataset is a person, a neighborhood, or a story waiting to be understood.
That's why visual storytelling has become one of my favorite parts of what I do.
I don't believe maps should simply display information they should help people understand it. A well-designed map can uncover patterns, explain complex problems, spark meaningful conversations, and empower organizations to make better decisions. When people can see a story, they connect with it in a way that spreadsheets and reports often can't.
Whether it's helping a nonprofit demonstrate its impact, giving community leaders the information they need to advocate for change, or creating interactive tools that make data accessible to everyone, my goal is always the same: make information meaningful.
At Cream City Carto, I approach every project with a simple philosophy that technology should make people feel informed, not overwhelmed. Every map, dashboard, and application I create is designed with the end user in mind because the best solutions aren't the most complicated; they're the ones people actually enjoy using.
I believe geography has the power to connect people to places, ideas, and each other. If I can help an organization tell its story more clearly, make one better decision, or create one stronger connection with the community it serves, then I've done exactly what I set out to do.
Because every map tells a story.
I'd love to help tell yours.
